To add support to Stephen's report, I'm finally back to trying NetBSD
again and am getting exactly the same thing using the netbsd-generic
kernel off the ftp.iastate.edu Jul 21 (Jul 9 kernel?) snapshot.
It worked back in December - when I first hooked the drive up to the
(then brand new) A3000-UX, and before that, when installed internally
in the (then, and still not brand new) A2500/030. I was using something
like vmunix.731 or so. (I never installed 744.) Anyway,
A3000-UX 8meg
A2065 Ethernet board
HD df0: 880k df2:
Quantum 200 meg on SCSI unit 6 with sVr4 and ados only
Maxtor 120 meg on SCSI unit 2 with NetBSD only
Archive Viper 150 tape,
On a related note, I'm also experiencing the reported SCSI 'hangs'
(I think)... I've simply left them (retrying?) and they eventually
seem to "recover." But I suspect these events may be causing other
bizarre (to me at least, since I don't understand what they are, yet)
errors when I attempt to enter multiuser mode.
